would be nice, if you don't mind. We got word yesterday evening that his grandpa passed away yesterday. He has been pretty sick for a while, with nothing really diagnosed, but after his prostate/gallbladder surgery last year, he's been slowly going downhill. Well, yesterday, his grandpa said he wasnt' feeling well, and that he was going to go sit in his chair, which is a usual daily activity, and takes a nap. Well he slept for a couple hours, and when his DIL tried to wake him from his nap, he was dead.
Honestly, we weren't expecting it anytime soon. It really is a shock. DH took it pretty hard, because even though his grandparents live 12 hours away from us, he would spend most of his summers growing up with them. Sadly, we had planned a trip to go visit them a month from now, I didn't think this would happen before our trip. I"m pretty bummed, and won't be around for a few days, as we will be headed up there tomorrow morning, and still don't know of any of the arrangements yet, so I don't know when we'll be home.
I guess there are worse ways to go, I saw my grandma struggle to breath for years, and her body just finally gave up on her. Now, THAT, was a tough way to die. I just hope DH's mom's family will be ok.

I'm sorry too. It is so hard when you aren't expecting it. My dh's grandfather went like that too. He was out raking leaves one morning and he felt a little tired so he went to rest and never woke up. Totally out of the blue. It shook his family to the core. I hope the next few days will not be too hard for your dh. Safe travels....
