Do you use hand sanitizers often? Do you use them with your children? I'm a bit obsessive when I take the kids out and when my daughter comes out of preschool, I use the hand sanitizer.

A few months ago, I found the foaming hand sanitizer. It is so much nicer for children (and adults!). Unlike the alcohol based products, it does not sting when applied. My girls like using it. I thought I'd share for those of you using Purell or something similar.

I buy mine at Target. Online at Babycenter & Target.

Nope...don't like them. We don't use them at all. We are avid handwashers though, the kids know when we get home from anywhere, or we're out to eat, or they use the bathroom out of the house...to go wash your hands...and they've been taught how to do it well. So it works for us!

did you get it in the baby isle at target?

Sometimes bathrooms are so gross, and I'd rather have dd use hand sanitizer than go in and wash her hands... We actually keep a potty in the truck of my car in case we can not find a clean bathroom.

So YES, we use hand sanitizer for those moments we cannot find a clean bathroom...

No, I don't normally use it. We wash our hands, but not obsessively so. I figure a little dirt won't hurt them. So far, they are all surrviving nicely.

I found it in the first aid isle. Srub-a-bubbles also has a wound cleaner and ointment.

I don't keep it in my homes. After it came out that all the antibacterial products might do us more harm than good i started getting the regular soaps.
I do keep one bottle in my car in case we can't get to a clean sink to wash hands.

I do like the idea of t he foam kind though. I'll check it out.

I have some, but we never use it. We don't even wash our hands that much. Curiously, we almost NEVER get sick. My kids have missed very few days of school ever due to illness (& they're high schoolers). So I think all those germs must have built up our immunity!!

Great for you, seriously.. not sarcastically. However, I'm not on board with the build up your immunity train. My husband & I and our parents and lots of other older people still get sick. I'm not sure what good it does to get a child sick. I was sick when I was a child and I still get sick.

Although I try to keep the germs down, my preschooler brings plenty home.
