I see that many people have daily routines. It got me wondering how many people have a weekly cleaning routine--as in Monday bathrooms, Tuesdays, vac and dust, etc., etc.

Anyone do their cleaning like this?

Not me! I guess I am not really one for routines. I do things as needed.

I do a general vacumn every day (1 dog and 2 cats, lots of hair) and sometimes also sweep because we have all hardwood floors. I also use wipes and wipe down the kitchen, bathroom and heavily used tables each day. I pick up clutter all day long and try to keep it under control (the office and my bedroom are the rooms that are hardest to stay on top of).

I used to do cleaning tasks as they came up, but now I babysit WThF, so I feel like I need to be done before then. So, on Monday morning I do my main grocery shopping trip and deep clean the house. I use the attatchments on the vacumn and move furniture. I dust the house and mop kitchen, bathroom and heavily used floors during nap. I change the sheets.

The only thing I don't do on Monday is scrub the bathroom. I do this on Sat or Sun so dh can watch ds since I use tilex and get in the shower to scrub the tub.

I do a load of laundry every day, M-F. I try to avoid laundry on the weekend to give myself and dh a break.

I find if I keep on top of a general level of cleanliness every day, it makes the Monday deep clean much easier. Any time I get behind (it happens sometimes!), it takes me much longer to get the house clean, usually carrying over into Tuesday and then I feel like I'm scrambling to be ready for babysitting, yuck.

I am constantly on top of things - M- F.

On Mon. and Tues.
I spend almost all day upstairs

I do all wash in baskets from the weekend , wash sheets / bedding/ Towels as needed,
I straighten up and Organize 4 out of the 5 bedrooms,(I don't go near teen dds room anymore) and I fully clean and discenfect the two bathrooms.

Wed. Is a Bit of a Day off for me -
Ds has gymnastics in the am , then We go shopping , or To visit The other kids at school for lunch , Sometimes I Have to go to an appointment , and My Mom Babysits , sometimes I tackle a Decorating or outdoor Project. Wed. Is Kind of An Open day.

Thurs. and Friday I repeat Monday and Tuesday.

Every night is spent straightening /organizing the downstairs. - Counters , tables and 1/2 bath gets discenfected daily. I also try to prepare for the next day.

I Fully Clean my upstairs on week 2 of the month
And I fully Clean my downstairs on week 3 of the month.

I Pretty much am a nut for clean bathrooms.

My Teenage DD changes the cat boxes, Cleans the back and front Glass doors and Sweeps the upstairs bathroom floor weekly

Weekends - I only do things as Needed!!

I should ... I wish I could ... but I'm just not that well organized.

It's like my dreams of running for exercise. Seems really cool, I'm impressed when I see others do it but then I try and something goes very wrong.

LOL! I'm not much of a runner either.

I do a load of laundry every day and chose a major chore at naptime. I don't have an assigned chore for each day.

I do have a loose schedule, but that's in my personality. I like to have a list, know what I'm doing when etc It doesn't control me though! I am flexible.

I do laundry as needed, usually at least one load per day. I also vacuum/swiffer daily on the first floor and I also 'tidy up' as I call it. It's not cleaning to me, but more of a picking up things in a room, tidying up the bathrooms. I do that every day.

Otherwise, for example, on Mondays, I clean the kids rooms, their bathrooms and the family room. For me, 'cleaning' means things like dusting, wiping down woodwork, changing the linens, cleaning the windows etc

I just broke down my house into how many days I want to do housework. I've done it at times, all in one day per week but I prefer to do a little a day because I want to do other things. I don't do housework (what I consider cleaning) on the weekends.

I tried flylady before and although I don't do it anymore, I think it can be a great system for some people. I got some good ideas from it that I still use.

I don't have a set schedule. I do some cleaning every day, but it's never in the same order each week. I don't like a rigid schedule, I'm pretty flexible about it!
