We started one between the girls.. On Christmas eve they are always excited and wanting to open gifts. So this year they opened their jammies from mom and dad and then they got to open the gifts they bought each other. They loved it! Those gifts didn't get lost in the Christmas morning madness.

I also gave them each a piece of jewlery on Christmas Eve. I think I will continue that one too... A special gift just from MOM!

When we came home from the in-laws Christmas Eve the boys found the Elves had left a gift on their beds. They were pajamas. They got to open them and wear them to bed. I think i will continue to do that.

We also did PJs on Christmas Eve. And stayed home for Christmas day (and went to the park and fed the ducks and geese). We really enjoyed it. So from now Christmas day is alone. The week before we spend with other family members.

We ditched extended family on Christmas eve and went to Chicago for the Winter Wonderland and dinner. Great time with wonderful memories. Will probably do it evey Christmas eve from now on.

I made the comment to hubby last week that WE didn't have a tradition for the kids, just us.... so when we were shopping last week he gave each kid (we have 3) 20 bucks, ten to send on each sibiling. They ran around WalMart all excited about getting to pick out what to get each other and they LOVED IT. They all asked if we could do it next year as well.
So that is our new tradition

We tied a string on to my daughter's gifts and let her hunt for them! She was a little confused but my husband LOVED the idea and will continue it for now on!

We didn't have any Christmas Eve traditions, so this year we decided to all make homemade pizza's after we got home from Church. The kids absolutely LOVED it! I think that we'll start doing this every year now!

We got pjs for DS and let him open them on Christmas Eve - he loved that! We'll do that each year.
