I have or think I have poison ivy, not the rash but the plants. both dh and I disagree as to what is poison ivy. Great and it's in with my perennials. too bad for dh , he's gonna have to brush the stuff on.

I was so down about it yesterday and couldn't post. man I was losing my mind. I felt stupid yesterday. it felt like a personal defeat that we have poison ivy. ok, ok, that's another post. but I did mention to dh that I need to see doc about possible depression. I soooo over reacted to the poison ivy thing.

ohh, maybe I should post again to up my posts.

google it and you'll find some pics to help you identify it, short of leaves of 3 let it be, that's all the advice I have! sorry if you do have it, make dh round up it and then put on some old gloves and pull it when it dies off. then throw away the gloves, too!

it's just a weed, not a big personal defeat...we spray round up and pull it by the roots and sometimes it still comes back...don't let it bother you!

and good for you about telling hubby you need some help, go to the dr and do what you gotta do...just take good care of yourself! hang in there and come back to vent here anytime!

Oh gosh poison ivy is horrible and can be really hard to control. *Some weed killers don't work on it, or maybe there are different varieties that are less suceptible to poison.

You'll be able to find good pics online to see if what you think you have is indeed poison ivy. Or take a sample and have it evaluated by your local nursery.

There are a whole bunch of different methods to remove poison ivy using things like salt, vinegar, boiling water etc *Tons of links online...

If you're pulling it out by hand, wear gloves and protective clothing and use Fels Naptha soap afterwards. *You should even wash your clothes in Fels Naptha to remove all the resin.

We keep Zanfel handle in case someone gets poison ivy. *DH has gotten it a few times and was miserable. *This stuff is fantastic.
