Hi, I posted a thread about ideas for my dd's 11th birthday party at home. I was thinking about having a webkinz party since she is inviting about 4 of her girlfriends from school. Last week she told me that she wants to buy one of her friend a webkinz so they can play together on the computer, now I am thinking of buying each one of her friends one (the smaller version about $6 each) instead of spending the money on goody bags, that way it would be more fun. Any other ideas do you have to go with a webkinz birthday party? Does it really make sense? Would the girls like it? Be honest what do you think? Thanks!

I think it could be a cute idea!

Will they want to play online the day/night of the party? If so, do you have more than one computer so they can interact with each other? Otherwise they'll just be on, one at a time...kwim?

You'll probably want to talk to each of the parents, if you'll be logging other people's children onto Webkinz and setting up accounts for them.

Also...where are you finding the little ones for $6.00 each? I bought one for my DDs and it was $11.00 while the big one was $15.00, not a huge difference if you are only buying one. Let us know your secret!

Sounds like a fun party though, I know my oldest DD (almost 8) would much rather a webkinz than a treat bag full of "goodies" aka "junk"!

That is a cute idea- I enjoy my girls getting 1 nice thing opposed to a goody bag full of little stuff- KWIM?

At 11 it is hit or miss if they are into playing some "typical" games- maybe you can check out webkinz and find a game that you can "tweak" so they can have a webkinz type game. I would also check out the little webkinz cookbook and have a few snack things or food that they can make for their animal on the website- that would be their snack item they can eat (usually at my oldest parties the girls really enjoy "making" their own foods- even if it is just decorating cupcakes!). For a craft you can go to a craft store and maybe pick up plain little t-shirts that you can decorate for their webkin for an outfit. Oh- I just had an idea- for a game maybe you can have a tresure hunt so they can find "gems" (the little rhinestones from Walmart or craft store) and you can pick up foam crowns and they can make their webkin a "crown of wonder"!

my little girl who just turned 6 is going to have a webkinz party!!
they have games and Crafts on the website I found!
Webkinz® - Crafty Critterz
some ideas were geard for older kids so I think it sounds like fun!!
i was thinking of giving each child a trading card (not sure how they work but thought that would be better) if they each have a code I could give her friends her Webkinz ID!! and they could have fun througjh there!!

I think it's a great idea! My dd (age 8) loves Webkinz and I'd be happy if she got one as a party favor. I just posted a deal in online bargains for Webkins in the $5 range.
