You could always just use a darning needle and do it yourself! That's what my mom did when she was 13. I can't even imagine that. I had always wanted my ears pierced but my dad wouldn't let me get them done. When I turned 13 my mom had taped a darning needle inside my b-day card, letting me know I could finally get my ears pierced. We went to Claire's or a place like it and it went fine.

I've used both walmart and claires.........both were good.
You might try waiting until they are not busy and they have two people able to pierce ears, so both ears could be done at the same time.

I would say Walmart or Claires. But... my 15 yr old dd got a second hole recently in hers at Walmart and the goofy girl got one way too low. We went back. We were advised to take it out right away and come back in 48 hrs for a redo. They did great that time. We had the department manager that time and I recommended that they not let the nit wit do anyone elses. Oh, the first (wrong) one went away and you can't even tell.

It is true that you can go to Walmart and Claire's to get your ears pierced and they can do a wonderful job. There are times when they do not. I had my second holes done at Claire's and they are uneven. I had two friends that worked at Claire's when I was in high school. They basically get told what to do and bring in one friend to practice on. One of my friends shot through the wrong place on someone's ear and she was still allowed to pierce after that! I never took my daughter to Claire's for this reason. If you check sometimes small jewelery stores do it and the staff is usually better trained. I also know that body piercing places usually do good jobs as well.

My dd got her pierced at 13....I personally can't stand the look of little girls with earrings, and don't understand moms getting babies ears pierced when they're not even asking....but we've had this discussion before.

I called my pediatrician and asked for recommendations, and he told me NOT to get it done at Claires and we went into his office and he did it and spent a lot of time talking to her about which types of materials to wear, how to clean, etc. She never had any problems.

I had my first set done when I was in third grade and I still remember the place. I was terrified. When I got into high school I did the second set myself. Not recommended.
I would talk with your ped and see if they can recommend a doctor that will do it. The nice thing about the doctors office is they usually numb it first.
I always thought it was mean to pierce a baby, BUT after seeing it done at the pediatricians office I would consider piercing my baby girls ears. But only with my doctor.
