It went awesome. As a matter of fact, awesome isn't even an adequate word! He was given 7 or so spoonfuls of barium and he cleared them all! He did have a trace amount penetrate, but it was so small and insignificant that they had to rewind and watch for it in slow motion.
Dr. White, our ENT, was VERY excited by the results. So much so that we are cleared for feeding trials and on the road to decannulation! (trach coming out for good) Now we wait for the heart cath. If the cath says we have a while, then we go for the LTR (reconstructive surgery) right away. If the cath says he needs intervention, then we do heart surgery first, then after recovery we do the LTR. Either way, it's coming!!!
