I was just wondering if there are any Amy Dacyczyn fans out there? I have read "The Tightwad Gazette" a million times through, and although I find most of her ideas a little too extreme for my family, I am interested if anyone has heard any updates on her or her family. I would like to hear what has happened since she stopped writing, and if, now that she is a millionare, if she still is as frugal as she once was. Has anyone heard anything at all? I can't seem to find any updated information on the internet, either.... I guess I am just curious..

i've read it a million times as well! i love it and i've adapted alot of the book to fit mine and DH's life. we are quickly headed down the road of frugality. but we don't have kids yet so the "kid ideas" don't fit my life. but i love many of her recipes and household tips! she has certainly made my quest for frugal living a lot closer!!!

I used to get her newsletter in the mail each month. Snail mail that is, and that was back in the early 1990's though. I do have the 2nd edition of her Tightwad Gazette book, i haven't looked thru it in awhile but i wonder if maybe there is a home address you could possibly write to her?
I dig that book out often when things are tight financially around here, it makes me feel less overwhelmed when it comes to surviving on a tight income.

I'm a big fan but haven't heard much about here lately. She sends out an annual update on their life. All is about the same - kids are growing, still living in New England, etc.

Yes, I'm a big fan. Here's a recent update:
