Yes, you may. She's been accepted in Miami University in Ohio (I think this is currently her personal top choice). She's been accepted into their honors program which came with a small scholarship. Also they give additional automatic scholarship to kids with a SAT score over a certain minimum so she will get that. But we don't know the total amounts of how much she will get yet. She's also going to audition for their orchestra and as they need cellos we're hoping she may get some money there, but since she only wants to minor, not major, in music, we're not sure about that.
Told you about IU...nice tuition scholarship plus other opportunities for scholarships (fingers crossed).
She's been accepted into the Honors Program at Calvin College in Grand Rapids MI. It's a small private Lutheran college. She was originally very excited about this school, but as time has gone on, it's fallen down the list of her wants, I think somewhat because it's so far away (& mommy wants her close to home too!!) We don't know what they're offering yet.
She's been accepted in Butler University here nearby and was given the $11,000 per year scholarship there....but their tuition is really high so we'd need a lot more to make that attractive to us. They have invited her to apply for the honors program and to meet with the biology dept chair and apply for a scholarship there, but no guarantees obviously. Plus they also want her to audition for the orchestra because they too are in desperate need of cellos.
We haven't heard yet from Purdue or Depauw. We haven't even gotten acceptance letters yet so I need to be following up with them. I know she'll get in both of them, but we're anxious to see if they offer her anything. Depauw discussed with me a 5 year dual degree program where she could also get a major in music in addition to her other major. If she was accepted for this, it would be full ride for the 5 years. But I'm sure that's really hard to get, so again, her grades may hold her back. Purdue is dh's alma mater, so we like that choice alot too.
So are you sick of me talking about this yet???
