I am throwing a surprise 60th party for my parents in early Nov. Mom's b-day is next week, Dad's in December so are doing a combo party since a bunch of folks are coming in from out of town.

I need help wording the invites. . .have been stressing over it and I need to get them out soon!!!

All I can come up with is yuck!!. . . . .

David and Sandy are turning 60 I realize
Please join us for a party of surprise
Let's help them celebrate 60 with a touch of class
And make some fun memories sure to last

PLease help!! We are doing a afternoon heavy appetizer/drinks party. Nothing over the hill or like that since Mom is a little sensitive about the big 60!!

Thank you!!

Please come join us in the celebration
As they greet turning 60 with jubilation!!

I can't top Jennifer's (she is really good at these), but this is the one I used for my mom's 60th in July -
Hey Hey, Ho Ho,
Kate is turning the big 6 - 0.

Not very original, but the best I could do! I really like Jennifer's!

My parents both turned 70 last year, and our theme was "70 reasons to celebrate".

We made up our own invitation - it included a nice picture of the two of them and the theme"70 Reasons to Celebrate" at the top. The we had a who, what, where and when line.
It turned out really nice. On a second page we included a map to the party location, a few other details, and a request that in lieu of gifts everyone write a letter to both or either of them reminiscing about some special event or time they shared together. Finally, we got a big clay platter from own of those make your own pottery places and had everyone sign it at the party. Then we had it fired and glazed as a permanent momento. They loved it!

That's a great idea!! I was going to have evryone bring/send a card in lieu of gifts with a special memory or photo that I could scrapbook for them as a momento.

Love the pottery idea!!!
