You are so sweet to ask, Claire. I updated in the soul searching forum when we got home this afternoon, but I haven't been back on all day. I finally got the little bugger to sleep! John did really well. He had his surgery at Egleston (childrens hospital at Emory) and they couldn't have been more wonderful. He has a 2 inch incision and 2 sets of internal stitches plus the stitches that we can see (that we are trying to keep him from seeing so he won't mess with them), so his little belly is really tender, but he is going to be just fine. I am SO glad it is over. I don't remember feeling so relieved about anything as I was when he woke up from the anesthesia. You always know that the chances are so unlikely that anything will go wrong, but it doesn't keep you from worrying. My cousin had a routine operation on a broken arm 2 years ago and never woke up from her anesthesia (healthy as could be and only in her 40s) so I just get nervous about it. I know YOU of all people can understand that.
