Missing letters on computer keyboards

I know someone had posted about this and I was surprised as I thought it was just my keyboard! Anyway I wanted to give a suggestion to fix w/o having to buy a new one. My dh printed out letters cut them to fit the button and painted over with clear nail polish. We have had them on for over a week now with no problems

We have worn off all the letters except z, q and j. It doesn't bother my dd and I because we can type without looking, but it drives my poor dh who is a hunt & pecker (that sounds funny

) stark raving mad!!
