Hi everyone! I haven't been on here forever, and I have missed it! There's an issue that my hubby and I are kicking around - fostering a child or possibly foster to adopt. does anyone on here have any experiences, good or bad, that they would like to share? I am curious if you have fostered and or adopted a child. We are going through the state which is a different program than paying so much money for a child from overseas.

I have never fostered, but my parents did when I was 12-18 years. That is how I got my brother, who my parents adopted. From a teenager at the time point of view, it is so rewarding and there are SO MANY CHILDREN here in America who NEED mommies and daddies to love them!! My husband and I have 3 kids, but we plan on adopting in the future through foster care.
I will say that it is sometimes sad when a child you fall in love with leaves your home, and the system itself has some issues, but overall I think it is a wonderful idea.

We are currently going through the training classes to become licensed in our state to foster and foster/adopt. We are really excited - we are looking at being completed with the process by the end of April.
