Please share with us your best tricks and tips on navigating through mommysavers. My intent is to help both new and experienced members learn a bit more about mommysavers, how to navigate through it and take advantage of all its options!
Please specify if the "tool" you are sharing with us is only available to moderators. Thanks!!

BTW- explain what the function does, where it is located, and what you like about it.

One Option that i like is the fact that you can set up to instantly make you aware when someone sends you a message (PM). You can do this by Clicking on User PC, then click on Edit Options, then make sure the box is checked off where it says

"If you are browsing the forums when you receive a new private message, the system can pop-up a notification box informing you of the new message.

Show New Private Message Notification Pop-up"

I always miss the pms! Good to know! I like the Who's online feature. To see if someone in particular is on or what not. I also like the Search option its good for when you have been away and you wanna see if anyone replied to any posts you have made or posted on with out having to go thru all the postings.

Utilize the search feature! On the tool bar there is a "Search" drop down. You can use it for general words or do an advance search (say if you know you saw a thread on Vinegar but can't remember where it was, or that you know it was in Household organization, you can do a general search and return every post about vinegar or just search the specific forum).

The Subscribed Threads is good for this also. It is under quick links at the top of the page. When you go to subscribed threads it goes to a page with every thread you have posted to and the most recent addition to that thread.

Whenever i log on, i click on "New Posts" to read all the new posts or threads that have been started instead of having to weed thru each individual forum to read what is new.

I've seen that tool and i've used it... but, how effective is it? what does it consider "new post" anything posted with in "X" hours? The reason i ask i bec. when i've used it, after using it, i'll go to a specific board, and realize that there are threads there that i have not opened or seen. So, why doesn't it show these?

I'm not sure the answer to that question. I just know that when i log on in the morning and hit "new posts" i have a ton to read thru. If i miss a day on here, OMG i have like 14-20 pages to read thru!
