I'm seeing your guys gas is more than our by a lot according to one poster. And I know that a lot of Canadians (remember I live very close to the border) come down here and get gas before returning home.

Are gas prices such a big issue with you guys? And why do you pay so much more?

Why do we pay more? I'm not sure but I also know that in Europe it's about double.

Average price in Britain $6.48 a US Gallon!

Gasoline Price Hits $7 a Gallon in England

Most countries except for the middle east who have their own oil supply pay much more than the US for gas. That's one of the reasons I always think it's so ironic when people start complaining about how gas prices have gone up.

So how much is it per gallon in Canada?

Gaz is more expensive in Canada because the price includes different taxes.

That's a good point. Do Americans pay tax on top of the listed rate? Our taxes are included in the listed price.

You know, I complain because everything is higher but I know in Costa Rica, where the average income is lower than the U.S. obvisiouly, that gas is (or at least use to be) a lot higher than here. Anyway, I was just curious.

It got me thinking so I did some online research on gas prices today in different countries.

These are all listed in US gallons at US dollar rates.

Singapore $4.76
New Zealand $4.91
India $4.92
France $6.45
Germany $8.02

The price per gallon does already include the tax on it.
