My son wants to have wings for his birthday party. I don't know what to serve with them. I am thinking a tossed salad but what else? I would prefer to keep it someone healthy but not sure if I can. I suggested mac & cheese, but he nixed that one. Help!

What is the age group for the party??? Also are you making hot wings or bbq wings?? I would do a veggie and fruit tray or fruit salad, chips and dips, and cheese and crackers. Keep it simple munchie type food, maybe.

In my family, we always do pizza and wings! There is this place where you can get 50 wings for $20 so we always get takeout and get a pizza to go w/ it. If we don't get the pizza, they have loaded fries! Not the healthiest...but you could bake your own fries, top w/ cheese and stick it under the broiler for like 2 minutes!

If you are looking for another side dish....a would go w/ the fruit tray...I do one every time I have any kind of gathering at my house. I cut up a pineapple, some strawberries, one green apple, one red apple, and some red grapes. Then I buy vanilla yougart as a dip! Everyone always eat that up!

Which son is it? Is it a birthday party? What time of day? If it's not going to be during lunch than you might do a fruit platter and dip or veggies and dip, maybe finger sandwiches, maybe goulash if it is lunch time, crackers with cheese and or pepperoni if he likes that, if it's a birthday than birthday cake or cupcakes, maybe punch to drink? Give us more details.

It is my son's party and it will be all our relatives, aunts, uncles, kids, grandmom, etc. This needs to be real food, not just finger food as this will be their lunch. I was going to serve the wings as part of lunch and not an appetizer, but I may have to rethink that if I can't come up with any good things to go with them.

Okay, then how about some baked chicken breasts for the people who might not like wings, the salad you mentioned, a fruit salad or fruit tray, chips and then dessert. You could also do a "starchy" salad like potato salad or pasta salad. That should be enough.

potato salad,
pasta salad
veggie tray
grilled potato wedges
veggie kabobs on the grill (those go over really well with large groups)

My brother just did this for my nephew. They had wings and little smokeys for the meat. Then they had chips, jello (for the kids), veggie tray and cottage cheese.

whole chickens are pretty cheap, you can do one of those, or hamburgers on the grill, salad and veggies and then your normal chips.
