I went to school with this poor nice kid from Japan whose name when you pronounced it was f*** U. He was really a nice guy with a horrible name. I always wondered what it meant.

Dh wanted to name our son (we didn't know it was a boy but these were his boy names) Horatio (as in Horatio Hornblower ) and Seamus. I actually like the way Seamus is pronounced - ShAYmas but I can see people all his life calling him SEA-MUS. That wasn't going to happen. And HORATIO? Hello, what sexual act does this sound like?!!

I dated a guy that his last name was Leech, like the insect. Yuck. Now if were Leitch, or something, OK, but NOT Leech!! Had to break up with him.

Had to edit to add my best story of all. My dh's great grandfather had six children. As a 'joke' on each of their birth certificates he listed their last name as the same name but all spelled differently. For instance, MacDonald would become McDonald, MacDonalds, MakDonald, ect. Can you believe it?! Makes researching family history hellish!

Someone on my mail route has a child named Issac......their last name is Newton!
We have a guy here in town that should seriously think about using his full name instead of a nickname. His name is Richard Tease, but he goes by the name Dick. Yeah that would make a hostess's face red in a fancy supperclub......." Dick Tease-table for two!".

I like unusual names! Of course, my real first name is Jocelyn and I eventually decided to go by my middle name, Gail. My husband goes by his middle name, Feryl. My kids all go by their first names, but each was named with either one unusual and one "ordinary" name, or else one name which could be shortened to something ordinary...Duncan Teague, Luca Kaceem, Miciah Dashiel, Lilani Juliet.
I have known people named Frank N. Stein, Frank Lee, and Paige Turner. Oh, and Amber Brown.
There is a little girl in our town named Barbie Doll _______.
