Do you know anyone with unusual or funny names??? I hope this thread doesn't end up offending anyone if someone says a name and it's a member or their child's name, but remember it's all in fun.

My mother was from a family of 10 kids. Her brothers names were (all aren't that weird):
Otho
Cletus
F.M. (We don't know for sure what they were for, but the rumor was always Francis Marie)
Clifton
Lonny
Lloyd
John L. (yes, they always said "L" with it)

The girls names were:
Arthenia
Dean
and my mom....Mary ...how the heck did they come up with Mary after all those weird names???

So do you know any funny or different names?

In my Dad's family there were some interesting names...........

Oleta
Idola
Hollie(for a male)
Chick(for a male, Charles was his actual name)
Tinker(male, no clue on that one)
Luella

My Great Grandma's (mom's side) name was "Effie" she hated it, so I named one of my goats that, lol, she love it!!

My other Grandma's name was "Beatrice" she went by Bea.

My BIL has an "Uncle Junior"

Thats all I can think of for now.

My grandmother's name was Alvina.

My parents wanted all their children to have unusual names because they both had really common names. Mom went waaay overboard with my two middle names : Sybeth Lamia.

And my first name isn't much better.

My dh used to work for a man whose wife's name was (not sure if I am spelling it correctly) Reinelda.

These people in town's last name is Darling and they named their daughter Precious. To me that is just plain mean!

My grandmothers name on my dads side was Sellen Hester. My Papa and his dad--moms side--name is Iley. Those are the only different ones I can think of that we have.
My Dads friends grandon is named Owney after his ggdad. This kid is just 20 now. My sis ex hubby had a kid named Rickiah, cant remember her middle name but it was strange.

Darling makes me think of the hillbilly family on Andy Griffith!

My dads name is Emmitt Alonzo and my moms name is Carrollton Beatrice. However, I teach school in a very low income school and 99% of the names I come across are so strange the kids can't even spell them.

My uncle Doc's real name was Dorris. His last name was Morris. I knew a girl growing up - Candy Barr. Most of the awful names I know from work:
Rosie Bush
Ginger Vigus
Dick Woodhead
Dick Little
