Default What do you want to buy that you know you'll never use?

My weakness is journals. I just love journals. All those gorgeous covers, with beautiful blank paper, just calling for me to write all my profound reflections on life.

The problem is that I just never write in them.

I can't tell you how many journals I have bought over my lifetime. I was going to journal my way through high school. My first true love. I was going to keep a record of my dreams (and boy do I have vivid ones!). Pregnancy. Motherhood. ... Ha! They are all still blank but for that first page or two. So now I stay away from the journals in the bookstore.

But then I find myself by the pens. Big heavy ball-point pens. I'm a sucker for new pens. Forget the fact that right now I'm looking at two coffee mugs full of pens on my desk here.

What is it that you have to fight the temptation to buy?

I buy scrapbooking supplies, I never even use half of them, I mean I buy tons and tons and tons of paper and tape, embelishments, buttons and in the last year I have used maybe a quarter of what I have bought and I keep buying. URGH

I buy Yard Ornaments, some are seasonal, some are whirly gigs, some look like stepping stones, and I have a bunch of Frog themed ones. I really have to restrain myself when it comes to buying these dippy things, but for some reason I love them!! I have so many right now that I can't even put them all out or I'd look like a crazy person!! LOL!!

I may be strange, but I really try not to buy anything that does not have an immediate purpose.

Anything along the lines of looking and feeling Better.

And then I realized that I Really Will Never Be using Up all this Eye cream .
Or those 20 Pallettes of eyeshadows. -
And No I DOUBT I will ever Finish up all My Body washes and Lotions ...

No Matter what I Had , i Always stuck to My Favorites ....

I sold the higher end stuff in lots on ebay. ( Good Money maker By the way)

And I Gave the rest to my daughters.

Shoes. I've lost count of how many pairs of shoes I've bought, but never worn. I have bags of shoes in my garage, some of which have moved with us through three or four different apartments and have never seen the light of day. Oh, how I love shoes. My teensy-weensy fetish. Fluevog, anyone? Chucks?

SCRAPBOOKING STUFF!! I buy it because.... Oh, someday I am going to have the gorgeous layouts like you girls have. But, for now, I just have guilt!! I have finished my oldest son's scrapbook, but not the last two kids'. I have scrapbooking guilt.

For me it is scrapbooking stuff also! I have so many papers, embellishments etc. and I have yet to make a single page! One of my resolutions this year was not to buy any more till I used what I had, so far so good......

Nothing since we've had kids. When I read this I thought of the box of Precious Moments I have packed away in a box in the closet.
