First, I don't have any good china. Actually I don't have any china at all! But I have a couple of nice looking platters. I'm using one tonight for the corn beef and cabbage. Now the funny thing was, I almost didn't use it, after all it is on the bottom cabinet under a bunch of other stuff -- in other words, it is hard to get too. But I decided I have it, I should use it!

And tomorrow night, I'm going to use that beautiful pasta dish that sets on top of my frig collecting dust. I bought the dang thing and I should use it once in awhile or get rid of it!

I have been married for 5 years and we have never used our china. It is sitting in boxes on the top shelf of our closet. We only have 5 place settings and there are 6 of us and I really dont want my young children even using it ( for the price it cost per place setting). I am not a china type of person but my MIL insisted I register for china......

We eat off our china once or twice a year like at Christmas, Thanksgiving or other special occasions.

I got some really pretty china for my wedding. In 15 years of marriage I probably only used it 10 times. A couple years ago, I decided that was ridiculous. I gave away my everyday dishes and I now use my good china everyday.

This is us too. We also use it on our anniversary (if we stay in) or sometimes just to "have fun" with the kids or when having a dinner party. We actually have two sets, because I have my parents china, and that set stays in the attic, but I love it so I won't get rid of it...I should really figure out how to use that set more...

I didn't want china but, wouldn't you know it, that's what my father gave me for my wedding gift. It wasn't used for years as it was stored at my mom's as we had no room for it in our apartment. When we got a house, it sat in boxes in the basement. Eventually we started using it once a year a new years. Last year we finally got a dining room set & I brought the 20 year old china out of the boxes and put it in the china cabinet. So now it's more convenient to use, but we haven't yet. It's just a set of 8, but we don't hold many "formal meals" unless it's for way more than 8.

We used my DH's grandma's china about 2 times since we have ben married and it was so long ago that I don't even remember what occassion it was for. Otherwise we just use our corelle or throw away plates when we have guests, just so much easier to use and don't have to worry about breaking anything that you would feel bad about.

I don't have good china or any china. But my regular dishes, a nice Corelle set, we use every single night. The kids have kid/fun dishes for breakfast and lunch and if we have pizza, which is normally our Friday night dinner, we use paper plates. I enjoy using our "good" dishes, platters and such every night. Family dinners are always important and special in our home.
