No, but you know they're expensive: I saw one at Big Lots yesterday, an off brand "cheapie" for $25. One of the very few things of interest I saw there.

I got a Krups one several years ago and thought it would really help me cut down on my Starbucks habit...nowever it was messy and I wasn't very good at frothing the milk.

Now...I use french roast coffee in a regular coffee pot -- make it very strong. Heat milk in the mircowave and use a hand frother ($12). It's cheaper and less messy

Check out williams sonoma, they carry all sorts of those makers. They are pricey but they have great stuff!

We have a Nespresso machine that we got in Switzerland, they sell them in the US at Williams Sonoma and online at the Nespresso site. It's really a great machine. It does everything we want and they have great customer service. You have to buy the coffee pods that go with the machine and they are probably pricey but we have found the coffee to be excellent with wonderful creama.

What do you want the machine to do? Do you just want espresso or do you want a machine that can make different drinks like cafe au lait or cappuccino? My Nespresso machine has the capability to froth and steam milk, in a pinch though, I just use the stove. I'm thinking of getting one of those handheld frothers for fun. :D

Frothing milk does take practice, like I've found that skim milk froths really well for me. I've read that skim milk won't froth at all or that you should use whole milk but I've never had a problem. Other than that, getting a little metal frothing cup is a good investment.

We got a Krups machine when we got married and I have to say that it worked well for us at the time...

I have a Mr. Coffee one that I got as a gift. I believe it was around $40. I love it. I haven't used the cappuccino feature yet, but the espresso is to die for.

ETA: It's very easy to clean, doesn't take up the whole counter.
