I have no idea what equipment you need...but my parents have it and they love it!! They only have it in one of their cars and always fight over who gets to drive it!

I have XM Radio, I love it and it came with my car (Acura MDX), I'm not sure what type of equipement is required for it. I know my brother has the Sirus one in his car, and he ordered his from the internet.

Personally I think theyre a waste of money. I just listen to a plain old radio.

I know that you have to pay a monthly fee to use Siruis & XM.

There is a fee involved, and for XM I pay a mere $75.00 per year. It's well worth is. Just the traffic report on it own saves me some time and money on the road.

I wonder if i get plug and play does it have to be "installed" or is it truly plug and play

I don't know what exactly is involved with the installation, but my I got my husband the Sirius one for his first father's day and he absolutely loves it. If your husband does any type of traveling or has a commute, it is definitely well worth the money. He will be thrilled. I guarantee it.

Dh got the XM one for Christmas from his parents..and yep...he simply plugged it in. We pay $12 a month for the service.

I think the plug and play works just as well, no installation required, just a activation may be required.
