One of Riley's teacher's is leaving the school and her last day is tomorrow. I thought about sending in a gift with Riley to give to her but my DH said that would be weird because the other teachers in Riley's room wouldn't be getting anything. Well, they aren't leaving. I have a bunch of Bath and Body stuff on hand so I thought about making her a small basket and having Riley "write" her a little card. Does that sound appropriate? I certainly don't want to be the "weird" mom.

I think is sounds appropiate...even just a note would be nice. I don't think the fact that your not giving anything to the other teachers is a problem -- as you pointed out, they are not leaving.

I think that's a really good idea and I'm sure the teacher would live it.

As a former teacher I personally always loved when the kids made me something: cookies, art work, etc. It was something they could brag about doing while I was openning it or when I was admiring it. It meant a lot to me.

I also loved Bath and Body works stuff.....what woman doesn't?

Claire had a really good idea for her son's teachers, which I told her would be awesome!! Tastefully simple has some really nice fall products put in a sampler pack. It would be awesome as a Thanksgiving gift or just something to say "thanks Teach!!"

I think it's a great gesture. And, the other teachers will understand that the gift is for aving not a snub of them. Teachers, IMO, deserve those little extras from their students, especially if the kids really like them.

I don't know anyone who doesn't like BBW products so I think she'll love it!!

I don't...LOL.:D

I think that it's nice you want to give her something, if you're feeling like it might be awkward for your child, maybe take it in yourself to the office so they can put it by her mailbox or something?

I think it would be nice. Especially if he has a connection with her besides just that she is teacher. Kinda like teacher's pet. The other teachers will get lots of stuff during the holidays and at the end of the school year.

THis is a token of thanks for teaching me and now you are leaving. She will be touched that he tought of her. She will remember him for years to come. I remember giving my 1st grade teacher a baby gift when his wife had a baby.
