We were invited to a 25th Anniversary party. They will renewing their vows and having a casual party. I would like to get a gift but am at a complete loss. We are not close to the couple. We only ever see them when we are out on our boat in the middle of the river... We've only seen them on land one time! Any suggestions?
If we did a good act merely from love of God and a belief that it is pleasing to Him, whence arises the morality of the Atheist? ...Their virtue, then, must have had some other foundation than the love of God. --Thomas Jefferson
I saw this title line and thought, "Skimommy is getting me a gift?" My anniversary is next week.
25 years -- don't know them real well? I might go with Calimari's idea and get wine or I might just bring flowers. Actually flowers are what I did for the last anniversary party we went to.
Being around that age myself, I can assure you that the couple has every material item they could every want and don't need more. I'm all for getting something consumable (wine) or something for the boat. Steer away from anything sentimental. Something humorous and fun would be fine.
