I just received a note from school for teacher appreciation next week (our school celebrates it for the whole week). The students are asked to bring in a small gift each day for their teacher and the teacher's favorite things are listed on the paper.

If we were just celebrating for one day I would probably buy the teacher a nice outdoor potted plant.

Next week is also Teacher Appreciation Week here. Here is a list of great ideas we received.
National Teacher Appreciation Week
May 5-9
Below are simple and easy ways to show gratitude for our awesome teachers and staff. Please don’t feel pressured to go out and buy anything. Use these ideas or come up with your own.

Monday: Have your child draw a self-portrait.

Tuesday: Have your child make a paper fan, folded and colored bright.

Wednesday: Have your child make anything related to flowers. Could be a drawing or folded tissue paper, etc. Or just pick a flower from your yard.

Thursday: Have your child write a short story of a memory from this year.

Friday: A sweet note from your child would be a great way to end the week.

***Remember there are lots of staff and teacher aids that I’m sure would love a token of appreciation as well.***

I am a teacher and our school does the "week long" thing. They did it last week though. My favorite day is/was the day each student brings in a flower. The room-parent brings a vase in before I get there in the morning and as the kiddos come in, they put their flower in the vase. It makes the most beautiful bouquet by the end of the morning. When I am a SAHM, I hope to be the room parent and arrange this for our teachers.

We are celebrating Teacher Appreciation all next week at our school. I have not decided what we are going to do yet.
