I wonder if it depends on what part of the country you're from? I know that where I live people in general are rude, obnoxious and the like. Driving here is no better! Perhaps, you're in the south where people are generally more patient and kind; especially in the Bible belt area.

Nope! I'm in the beating heart of the bible belt and I answered "cliquish snobs." Really, I think it probably boils down to the actual neighborhoods in the area. The area I live in has recently become affluent (I am not affluent), so the well-to-do's have a tendancy to stick together and not want to have anything to do with the have-not's.

I experienced parents like this when my ds was in a private school for 2 years. There was one mom that got mad because our kids were playing monkey in the middle on the playground one day and wouldn't give the ball to her kid (they were 4 and in pre-k). She called every single parent in the class and went off on us and told us our kids were cruel and mean, etc. She also called both teachers at home and went in the next day to talk to the lower school principal about it! My dh and I laughed so hard about it that we almost wet our pants. We kept thinking that poor boy, he is going to be so embarrassed by his mom when he gets a little older! Luckily I had been warned about her tirade from another parent and I let the machine pick that one up.

At our elementary school now I can honestly say that the parents have been great. We all know it takes a LOT of people to make our school what it is, and everyone is good about working together.

I'm sorry....I have been laughing from the first post on. This sounds like an episode of Desperate Housewives...I think you should submit it!

And autismmom, I think I'd gather some fake snow as a gift for that kid and his parents so he can go to town with his "creative spirit". Geesh!
