Tomorrow, or today I should say, because it's almost 2 in the morning, Rob is going to have a TEE. It is a trans esophageal echocardiogram. They will numb his throat and under conscience sedation they will feed a small ultrasound device down his esophagus. His doctors will be able to see the part of the heart that is giving him problems. They will also be able to see if he has any blood clots.

His doctor mentioned shocking him into normal rhythm as well. I don't know if it will be during the same procedure or how they are planning to convert his rhythm. Another factor is whether or not his body will behave itself and stay in good rhythm. Just another thing to deal with.

He had an ultrasound of his legs today to look for clots. He also had many blood draws and another EKG. He's wearing a CPAP mask now for his apnea and we can already tell a difference with him. He's also getting Lasix to pull the fluid from him and it's starting to work for him. His feet are nearly back to their normal size. Something we haven't seen in several months.

Thank you for ALL of the prayers and well wishes. I can barely read the responses to my first thread. You are all so wonderful!

You, Tommy, your husband and your other boys are definitely in my prayers. I hope that these procedures lead to answers and an improvement in his condition. Good luck!

My thoughts are with you. My sister had Congestive Heart Failure at 27, 5 days after delivering her DD. She ended up having gastric bypass surgery to lose the weight (she didn't qualify on weight alone, she only needed to lose 60 lbs, but the dr.'s wanted it off fast). 3 months after the surgery she was off all blood pressure meds, diuretics and her other heart meds. It worked wonders. Best of luck to you and yours, especially Tommy and your DH.
