Not every marriage is perfect there's up and down. DH lately has been really annoying everytime he talk to his friend on the phone he keep saying "ohh my wife doesn't do this and do that" he says it jokingly of course (I don't find it amusing) . They are making "wives joke" on the phone. He makes little comments like "I work all day I come home tired and I have to change poppy diapers" I mean hello stupid welcome to parenthood. He understand that being a SAHM its not an easy job (he got to be a full time dad while I was having DS in the hospital for a week) but yet he tries to compare my job as a mom and his job at work. Every time I ask him to do something like "honey can you please make some formula for Emily" he always give me a reply like "Ohh I need to get up early in the morning" and he goes straight to the computer. By the time he walk from the kitchen towards the computer the formula should be done . How hard is that? its a repeated excuse I hear from him "ohh I have to get up early in the morning and drive 35 mins" he swear everday that he need to get up at 4 am and when the alarms screams at 4 am he gets up and turn it off and say "40 more mins" then he goes back to sleep. Nurmerous times I have to wake his butt up because he might miss his PT formation in the morning. I know he's not serious but I don't like my job as a SAHM being compared to his. Why? because both of us have a hard job. He brings home the bacon while I take care of the two kids plus the dog. I cook, clean, do laundry, wash his car, etc.. I mean he is a good father and he does help out around house without being ask its just bothers me when he makes "wives jokes" on the phone and compare my job to his. I just don't like that. I told him about it and he keep saying his sorry but everytime his friend calls well its starts all over again. But see the difference is his friend's wife is 3 yrs older than him. So basically she babied him. I swear this woman told me one time that he wakes her up every morning because he needs someone to make coffee for him. DH known this guy for a long time (5 yrs) consider him his bestfriend. His wife is very nice lady (motherly type) and his the childish type.

It sounds like you need a big hug. Sometimes men can be so mean. I wish I had some answers for you.

Maybe if you don't clean the house, do his laundry, or cook for him for a few days, he will see how much work you have to do everyday!

Don't let him see that this bothers you, A lot of time men say things to other men "just to act macho & make themselfes look big" in front of the other guys.

Ignore him and don't ask him to help you, but when he wants you to do something for him, like maybe bring him something to do or fix him a plate, anything. Just have a excuse handy like "I am sorry hon but I am busy making formula or playing with the baby"

After a while he will fill left out and want to help with the baby.

Make a big sign that says "ABSOLUTELY NO WIFE JOKES ALLOWED!", and hold it up in front of his face everytime he gets on the phone with his friend....he should get the message !
