Scenario: You pull up to the gas pump and notice that it is $.37 a gallon. It was a mistake, not a promotion. What do you do?

I'd fill up, pay at the pump as I always do, and call friends to tell them where the cheap gas was. I'd assume it was a promotion, as that does happen around here every so often, and that I got in on it before the news got out.

I would tell the attendants as soon as I realized it. I think that is pretty much stealing.

I would fill up and see what the price was program in the computer/pump at.

If it was ringing up at $3.37 then I would know that it was a mistake on their part and they left a number off of the price. If it was ringing up at .37 then I know that they put it in the computer wrong. Either way I would bring it too their attention.

And since I was so honest, pray that they let me have it at .37 a gallon

I wouldn't fill up if it really was a mistake because lets say they did catch it and then seen you do that, nows days they take down your license plate as you are pumping in case you fill and run or fill and pay nowing it was a mistake. i wouldn't want the cops waiting for me to get home. This has happened in our town not the price but the cops waiting for you.

I don't know what I would do because it could be a promotion - though I personally have never seen one. And it could be a mistake. I would probably mention it to the attendent because I have friends with a gas station and I know they're not the ones making a profit off of this price hike.

Honestly i might not even notice. I don't always look at the amount on the tank before i start to pump....Today i did!!!!!! OVER $4 HERE TODAY!!

Is it really stealing though? It's there mistake......if you get a pair of shoes for 99 cents because they are marked different then the same shoes that are marked for $9.99 is that stealing? Hmmmmmmmmm????? If you didn't change the sticker you really are not stealing. Just a thought.
