Not sure if this is the right spot to post this....

I want to make my dd barbie doll furniture from stuff around the house. Any ideas? I read somewhere about using matchboxes for drawers.

Kind of embarrassing but when I was a kid my mom helped me make barbie chairs our of cigarette packages. So maybe something that shape?

the family fun magizine has some good ideas. You can make a chair and a couch out of a small and large kleenex box. You can also use plastic canvas and it's pretty inexpensive.
I think the family fun site is familyfun.com and just look under the crafts. With a little glue and carboard you can make a bed. Scraps of material are great for pillow and blankets.
Good Luck!

I loved creating furniture out of household stuff, even better than using the storebought things. I couldn't create anything permanent so I'm of no help, but you triggered a good flashback.

My sister & I made some of our barbie furniture too, For a bed you use a square flat kleenex box & use a regular wash cloth for a blanket. We would take arosol can lids(probably from Aqua net, lol) and stuff them with cotton balls or kleenex and put a small piece of fabric over it secure with a rubber band and you have a stool that barbie can sit on or Ken can prop up his feet. My Mom would sew lace to the top of bed sized pieces of fabric to make it look like a pretty comforter or blanket. My Mom made us some clothes too, she is very good at sewing, I think she just used patterns from our local fabric store. I'm sure you'll have fun doing this, HTH!!

I found this
http://www.hgtv.com/hgtv/cr_kid_craf...386253,00.html

I am thinking about making a doll house for my girls for Christmas. There is also a set of furniture on Amazon. It is 6 rooms of furniture for like $40, but you have to assemble and paint it all. I am looking at furniture first. I don't want to build a house too big or too little for the furniture I want. And I am not sure what size dolls we will get. I don't think we'll do barbie's. I like the little dolls.
