I shop at Penny's, Khols, and Old Navy and I really like the way the clothes hold up. Target and Wal-Mart's clothes just don't work for long.

Oh, he's not dressy. No sweatpants (not in Arizona), but rather shorts and t-shirts, or jeans and tees or polos. It's just that he is rough on even his shirts.

The thing is, with his Aspergers, he doesn't pay attention to what others wear, so I'm in the dark (I don't know what's cool for 8 year olds), and I don't want his clothes to be another thing that makes him stand out and be another thing for kids to pick on or avoid. You know at that age if the kid dresses funny, he's automatically out.

the boys in my dd's class (she is 8) tend to wear Cargo pants and jeans and tshirts! old navy is a good place! at least from whatI see the boys in her grade wearing!! but I have girls so Im not too sure!! good luck and I dont blame you for wanting to make sure he wears what more of the boys are wearing

I don't understand why Target won't work? I have hand me downs that 3 or 4 of my kids have worn from there. T shirts and the nylon type shorts (mesh? or sports type) are what my kids prefer when it is warm. They go for comfort. Most t shirts now do not have tags either which is good.

If Target and WalMart won't work, Old Navy has a big variety of boys t-shirts.

We go the more sporty type of clothing...my son will be 9 and wears a lot of Adidas and Nike shirts and shorts. He wears lots of jerseys like Red sox and Boston Celtics. He likes jeans shorts but I buy them one size too big so they are below his knee and kind of baggy w/ longer type shirts. He would not be caught dead in sweatpants...he refuses to wear them. they could be like Nike running pants or something similar to that. Sometimes when it is bitter cold in the winter I wished he would wear some sweatpants but...he refuses!!
