I was invited to a "handbag" party. What exactly is this? The person hosting it isn't really a "friend" but an aquaintance from a mom's group I belong to. TIA!!!

It's a home party where you can buy knock off handbags...well the ones I've been to have been knock off of designer brands but some are just handbags, not necessarily trying to look like designer ones.

I've heard of two kinds of handbag parties. One is where you buy designer knock-offs. The other is where you get to design your own bag. Did she say what brand it was, or did it have a name?

I've never been to one but I've heard the same thing. I was invited but couldn't make it because we were out of town that night.

I was invited to one not too long ago but could not make it as I had prior engagements to go to, but I asked my friend who was hosting it, and she said it was knock offs.

I never "got" the thrill of this kind of party---I think I would rather go to a lint ball museum honestly.

Of course, I am not a big handbag/purse person either--just need something to hold all my stuff and I'm happy.


I guess I just never caught the allure....

It was a knock off one... I am very happy with my 3 year old Vera Bradley big bag!

Those are supposed to be illegal, Ive seen those on tv. Even though they are knock offs, you may want to research the designer brands you like on line so if you go youll know what the actual purse looks like. You dont want to get a knock off that looks fake.

Ive seen some really good knock offs at a flea market, they were unbelievably real looking Coach purses! I was so surprised. They sold for about $35 each!!! I dont think Im going to buy the real thing again!! LOL I know at purse parties, depending on the designer they are selling they sell for about $100. (more or less)
