The local high school ties my dd's elementary school into their homecoming festivities during spirit week, and Wednesday is 1980's day. Remarkably, I stll have a pair of legwarmers (that I still use around the house during the winter) that she can wear with jeans and I can probably come up with something to make a headband. I'm also going to fluff up her hair. What kind of shirt can she wear? Anything else 80's-wise I can put on her?

How about a cut-up sweatshirt circa the Flashdance era? With big hoop earrings if she has her ears pierced along with the sweatband would be perfect.

I also remeber a lot of horizontal wide striped shirts.... 2 colors only tho... Or an off the sholder shirt ( cut to make the neck larger) with a tank top under. big neon earrings. tons of plastic braclets. socks over the bottoms of jeans. Keds with color shoe laces.

Cross necklaces, lace headband. Streaky makeup with garish eyecolor and streaks on the cheeks - contouring, it was called. Can you do her hair like A Flock of Seagulls or like the girls in Prince's bands? You've also got those HUGE shoulderpads in blazers to wear over the Flashdance sweatshirt. Perfect for Frankenstein on Halloween. I still have those...scary. I did love the acid washed jeans, though.

Definitely go with a cutup sweatshirt with a tank underneath. If you don't want to do big 80's hair, you could do a ponytail coming out of the one side of her head (I can't believe I used to do that look! ) You could also spray in some glitter on some neon colors into her hair (again, what was I thinking? ) That sounds like so much fun. We will definitely need to see pictures.
