Wow! I can't tell you how wonderful it was to see this post and the awesome birthday greetings! Thank you, truly from the bottom of my heart.

I thought turning 40 would be awful but is nothing compared to the news we received earlier this week. My husband has worked for Cub Foods for over 22 years. He started pushing carts in high school and worked his way through college and all the way up to Store Director. (We actually met and fell in love in the Dairy Department ) Well, all Cub Foods in Illinois are closing effective 12/1/06. He got a "termination letter" and after almost 23 years, he's done. I've been a total wreck and have been searching the boards for budgeting ideas. He's sending out resumes and is online searching for jobs every single day. It's just so scary to think that our way of life may soon be so drastically changing. The thought of no insurance is just sickening.

So, when I saw my name and this great post, I just wanted to thank you all and let you know that this is the best thing that has happed to me in days!!!

Wow I'm so sorry that this is happening to you and your family especially at this time of year. Is there any action he can take against the company. I didn't realize that Cub foods was closing we don't have one to close to us so I don't go there anymore (used to shop there before).

I hope that you are able to have a Happy Birthday despite this bad news.
