I had mine tied with my last c-section, so I don't know what the incision will be like. You will have a weight lift limit and will be tender for awhile. For several months after my tubal, I was sensitive during my period, too. Really, though, it wasn't too bad.

Now, I went through some emotional aspects that I wasn't expecting. Of course, I WAS postpartum, so my hormones were a mess, but I think that I would've gone through those emotional issues anyway.

I was very upset that I had no choice in the matter regarding future babies after my tubal. Nevermind that I completely didn't want any more babies!!! Matt and I were in total agreement that our 3rd was the perfect completion to our family and I was thoroughly sure that I didn't want anymore babies, but after the tubal, it dawned on me that I couldn't change my mind and it was pretty much in stone that I had ended my reproductive life.

The only solace was after 2 weeks of depression about it, I reminded myself that my ovaries were still functioning and I could have eggs harvested if I ever really wanted another baby. Once I came to that conclusion, the depression was gone and I've never regretted the tubal.

Just realize that you may have some emotional issues that you didn't expect to have, but you will be able to work through them.

Good luck and don't worry. It will all be fine.

Mine was also during my c-section and I felt the same emotional things. I knew for a long time I wanted a boy and a girl and when I found out it was a girl I was so happy and knew I wanted my tubes tied. But for a while after I was really depressed about it and wished I hadn't done it, but my daughter is now 6 months and I am fine.

My tubal was done through my belly button and minimally invasive- they pump air into are so my shoulders were really sore achy for two days- DR advised me no lifting for 2 weeks and to use birth control for at least 6 weeks to make sure no eggs slipped through- it was suggested to limit any physical activity for about a week but that was 16 years ago
it was out patient surgery and i actually went to work that night- office job
sitting no stress or physical activity
good luck to you
