My dad bought a goat for my dd a couple days ago. She's one of those pygmy goats, just a baby. Well, a big, spoiled baby and will follow dd around everywhere she goes and doesn't need to be penned or tied. So she asked my dh and me if she could bring it over to our house last night. We both agreed, thinking that it would stay outside the night. Well, we tied her outside, and all she did was "BAAA" when no one was out there. LOL It was kinda loud and I know I couldn't stand it all night long, let alone the neighbors.

So I told her that she could put her in the house, but she needed the cage. Realized our dog cage was broken, so we had to tie her leash to the dining room chair so she was at least on bare floor and not on the carpet.

Of course, when I got done doing the dishes last night, I walked into the living room and there's the goat all curled up on the couch beside dd. I made her get down.

Am I the only crazy parent that lets animals stay in the house??

That is so sweet. My Dad has raised 6 pygmy goats from baby-hood and has kept all of them inside until they were strong enough to stay outside.
They are so cuddly and sweet and actually pretty clean animals (besides the little poo balls ) It's good that you let DD socialize the goat like that....It makes a really sweet, loving goat when they grow up.

Whew! My dh isn't an animal lover and thought I was nuts for letting her in. I'm glad I'm not the only sucker for a baby animal.

She is a sweet little thing, absolutely loves my dd and dd loves her. You just want to pick her up and squeeze her! LOL

My dad had bought one last year, but it was a little bit older and more wild, never warmed up to anyone. Then he got worms and died instantly. DD was very excited, although, the goat won't be staying at our house anymore.

sorry, no I didn't take any... I was so busy with all the kids (4 were there), and making cookies in my small 12x5 kitchen, that had 4 kids, 1 adult, 2 cats, a dog and a goat in it, I didn't even think about it. Luckily, all the animals stayed in their own little corners.

I told my friend at work that I was going to be making cookies and that I figured the animals would be in there too, but never thought of a goat.. haha

Well THAT'S not a title you see everyday

But no, we're animal lovers too. I've never had a goat in my house, but it sounds like something I'd do. We had a friend who raised pygmy goats and they ARE cute.
