growing up, i didn't talk to a lot of people, and now i sometimes find my sarcastic/ opinionated nature gets me in a lot of trouble.i have been working on toning it down, and i try to be more aware of my audience when i'm sarcastic.

but in general, is it bad to be sarcastic? my dh and i make each other laugh with our sarcastic remarks, and a lot of my friends are sarcastic. it's all in fun. can you raise a sarcastic child and still be a good parent? i don't mean the child who sasses off to her teacher or something, but i think sarcasm can be fun at the right moments.

what do you think?

I don't think it's bad. But if it is, I'm probably worse. I'm horribly sarcastic.....just the way I am. I do know my audience though, and who I can say what to. I try to have a little cooth (sp?).

As long as sarcastic comments are not hurtful then I see no problem with it. I have a sarcastic sense of humor also.

No.

Oh sorry, did I answer that too fast? LOL, I tend to be very sarcastic at times but not in a hurtful way.

Not at all. I'm very sarcastic - I have a terrific sense of humor and I crack people up all the time. However - SOME people - do not appreciate that brand of humor. My father is one of them. He loves slapstick-type or fast punchline type humor. I do not care for that. I consider it rather stupid humor. I do agree that you need to know your audience as some people might be rather thin-skinned and take offense. But is it "bad?" No. Just like anything else, not everyone appreciates it.

I am very sarcastic but it's hard to come off that way online so I leave most of it off the net!
