any good tips for washing the dog (without getting too wet ?? )

Do you wash them inside or outside? Our dog needs a bath sooo bad, and I'd prefer to not have my very own "water park ride" . Is there such a way??

When our dog was alive...we used to wash him outside if he really needed a bath. I always ended up wet...LOL! I don't know how to prevent that! I never washed him inside, but our dog was pretty big. If it was cold out, we took him to the groomers.

One thing that worked for us was to use warm water, so if you don't have that option outside, you can just bring out buckets of hot water to mix with the hose. It just seems to rinse out the shampoo so much better and makes for a more comfy dog.

Good luck!

I've done the two person tub fun - make sure you have something over the drain to catch hair! I have one for my own hair, so no issue. I can't wash our dog now in the tub because it's upstairs, and she doesn't go up more than 3-4 stairs - afraid of them, and I don't feel like hauling her butt all the way up those narrow stairs. For the two person thing, it's just one person standing in the tub holding the dog on a leash, and the other bathing the dog. Both will get wet.

I wash out dog outside alone, she likes the water though. I just put the leash on her, and then stand on it so she can't wander on me. She doesn't mind the cold so I don't have to get warm for her, but for other dogs, I've brought out a big bucket of warm water to wash them.

Good luck LOL!

I tie her to a tree so she can't get away...but I always end up wet, thank god for crocs, they dry so fast

We have a 4 yr old chocolate lab and she gets washed outside. We got her use to the garden hose when she was a puppy so she's not afraid of it. She stands there and takes it. I seldom get wet.

I wash our dog in the tub. We have sliding doors so I keep them mostly closed. The trick is to have the dog jump out, onto towels, and then quickly throw a towel (or two) over him. Get one on the head area and one on the tail area. That way the dog won't start shaking to get the water off.

Well, we had a Great Dane, so most of the washing was done outside. My husband usually took care of it, but if she needed one while he was at work, we soaped her up, chained her up and sprayed her with the hose. No staying dry there. I usually had the kids do it.
In the winter my husband would give her a bath in the tub, that didn't work too well.
If she just needed a freshening up, I took her out on the porch and dumped a box of baking soda on her and rubbed it in.

If he is a big dog, the hose is the best thing.

A little dog I would just stick him in the bathtub.

My problem with buddy is keeping him out of the bathtub, he loves baths. And if you are running your bath water, and the door is not close, you will walk in the bathroom and he is sitting in your bath water.

That is cute!

Well we have so far given the puppy a bath inside. The girls like to spray him with the hose when they are outside but he hates that. I can't wait to see how big he gets as to how we will handle him later.....

In the summer, the kids wash our dog (85 lbs.) outside with the hose. He loves water, so the cold doesn't seem to bother him. The challenge is keeping him from running off to roll on his back on the gravel or dirt afterwards. He looks so happy when he does this that we're sure it feels so good! lol

In the winter, one or both dd's put on bathing suits and bathe him in the walk-in shower with the hand held shower head. He appears to love the warmer water, and just stands still while they lather him up. The challenge, in this case, is to keep him from shaking when he steps out of the shower. I usually have to wipe down everything with a dry towel when they're done.

They bathed him yesterday and today he smells like coconut
