Seriously, as you may know my DH is chronically ill. I am very worried about identity theft. So, I have saved and saved them. I now have a kitchen garbage bag full. He has started just tossing them in the garbage, this worries me though.

What do you do?

Or what do you think?

Am I being over worried?

Thanks for any input!

You could take the labels off and tear them up. My dh just takes his old bottles in when he needs it refilled and the pharmacy disposes of them. That's a small town pharmacy, not sure if anyone else would.

I usually just rip the label off of mine. Sometimes I will save a few. I like to keep hairpins in them (keeps them neat); I have also found that if I keep my silver jewelry in them the jewelry doesn't tarnish.
I would think that if you could take the labels off a school might take them (after being washed) for donation for craft projects. Also I like to keep a few around and put some tums in it in my purse (after taking the label off)

Ya, check with your pharmacy -- some of them, I've heard, recycle them.

I just take the labels off and destroy them. We dispose of the bottles in the trash.

I remove the labels from all mine. I keep a few for odds and ends around the house, but the ones that held my chemo drugs get taken to our Solid Waste Management office for proper disposal.

We peel off the label, put it through the shredder, the bottle goes in the recycling bin.

I suppose i should spend the time and de-label them and run them thru the Dishwasher and take them to school. I am worried that some medication might not wash out, I know he is on one scrip that a pregnant women shouldnt handle. (not me) I will call the pharmacy, if I got rid of them it would be a big bag of stuff!

Thanks
