I completely feel your pain my hubby is in Iraq for 6 to 9 months maybe longer if he can pick up more contracts. Well I am a SAHM to 3 and I am just like you wanting to get the me back and feel better about myself and my home. I decided I am gonna start to take pride in myself even though I have very low self esteem, I am gonna actually buy make up and force myself to get up every morning before the kids shower and do my make up and all and hopefully this will make me start to feel better about myself and get me in the rountine and habit of looking good so when my hubby finally comes home he can be shocked and amazed and want me cause I am beautifull on top of him wanting me just cause he has been gone for so long. I know being on bed rest is hard been there done that 2 times but you have to alot youself the ability to make you feel good about you and your home maybe see if you can have some type of family members come over and helpo you clean up and what not I know I get a high if my house is clean and smelling pretty instead of the constant pig stye that it always is so my wishes and prayers are on yourside and just remember 1 day at a time and everything will work out and even if you manage to just take a wet cloth and wipe the counters or bathroom down when your in there that is enough to make you feel better too. Good Luck

Get up every day shower, change clothes, and brush your teeth (twice a day). Have you talked to your ob about your depression. I'm worried for you that it will get worse with post partum depression or do you think it's situational based on bedrest and dh being away? You have to do this for yourself, your child, and baby on the way.

I actually DID bring this my ob's attention, but she wasn't comfortable giving me anything while pregnant. They had such horrible effects on the baby. I am just trying to "walk it off" until he gets here and then I will have to start taking them again.

That is very suprising to me, as I have been on several antidepressants while pregnant...by several ob's! Three of my kids, so far, are in the gifted category at school, so it certainly didn't hurt their brains! I know there are classifications on drugs, and there are several of those type that are not in the risk group. I might ask again, if you think you need to. Just know that you have less than a week!!!! YEAH!!!

I know this sounds silly, but paint your nails. For me that was the click. I painted my nails and looking at the bright colors or just something different made for get moving again. But you have to find what is easy for you too. I do my makeup and hair every day. I found a cut that is very easy to do, 3 different ways. I can even go every other day without washing it. I do little makeup, but I always have foundation, coverup, eyeliner and mascara and just found a great lipstick. I feel like I'm alive now and not embarrassed if someone stops by. I got rid of all my sweat pants, got athletic pants and nice tops, sweat tops, and jackets to match. I just pulled everything together. I was exactly how you were when I was pregnant with Thomas and just until about 3 months ago. Do one thing new a week or every couple of days. I know get up at 7 and get a shower, hair and makeup. I pull out my clothes for the week on Sunday so I know what I'm wearing and won't resort to old sweat pants and tshirts. Find things that do double duty so you don't feel like your spending so much time. Set a night for jsut you. Mine is Thursday nights, I do a facial, nails, condition my hair, wax, whatever you need to do. I feel like a new women and you will too just give it some time. You've got alot on your plate, but take care of yourself. HUGS!!!
