I work 3 12 hour shifts a week and one out of 6 weekends so I run errands and clean on my day off. Try to do one load of laundry a day. Make it a habit to spend 15 min before kids go to bed to clean up clutter/toys. Spread out cleaning items throughout the week, ie one day dust, next vacuum, next bathroom and so on.

DH works days and I work evenings so what I don't get done in the morning he finishes in the evening. Laundry is set for Mondays and Thursdays. I usually wash and dry; he folds and puts away. Deep cleaning gets done when I have the time. It'll get done in the next few days for ds's bday party though.

I'm out of the house between 7:30am-5:30pm M-F. I don't do much cleaning during the week. I will pick things up while i'm cooking dinner, but after dinner, I spend what little time is left before bed time with the girls. I don't think a spot free house is worth missing out on time with my kids.

I do cleaning/laundry on the weekends. If we have something to do and cleaning doesn't get done, then so be it. It'll wait until next weekend.

I am a neat freak and my house is far from "dirty" , but I don't stress over making sure everything gets done.

I work 40 hours a week and have every socially active kids. I work 7:30 until 3:30 M-F. We have activities every night of the week. I do at least 1 load of laundry a night, the kitchen is cleaned nightly. The dishwasher is emptied before bed and the breakfast dishes go straight from the table to the dishwasher. My 2 kids each have his/her own bathroom. I keep Clorox wipes and they wipe down their respective bathroom every evening after showers and every morning after getting dressed. Everyone is responsible for picking up their things from the common areas before going to bed at night. If it is left until I go to bed it goes in the trash. I deep clean between football games, cheerleading, birthday parties and gymnastics on Saturdays. Each child is responsible for washing his/her bedding and towels weekly. My husband and kids are great about helping around the house. My husband does 80% of the cooking in our house. He doesn't have the patience to help with homework and I hate to cook. We have found what works for us.

I work full time 7:30 - 4...
I have a nice sized 2 br 1.5 bath townhome. Its small and easy to care for. I typically do laundry on Friday, right as I get home from work. I dont have the machines in my unit but I have to wheel it to the laundry room. I only take up 3 washers to do a weeks worth of laundry for 3 people. It takes about 2 hrs to finish the laundry work which includes putting it away (my fiance helps me).
I clean here and there during the week, vacuum the bottom level daily (kids and crumbs)
Kitchen is always clean and tidy at the end of the day.
I try to clean as much as I can on Fridays, then that leaves me the whole weekend to relax.

I work 8-4:30 Mon-Friday (but my work is 2 blocks from home so I'm home 12-12:30). Typically I do laundry on the week-ends. If we have a busy week-end and we're not home much, then I'll try to do it during the week. Lately I'll throw a load in the washer after my shower in the mornings. Usually by the time we are ready to leave the house, its ready for the dryer. Then when I'm home for dinner I take it out of the dryer, fold and put away. Start the next load in the washer. When I'm home from work I put in the dryer, etc, etc. I know I shouldn't dry clothes when I'm not home but I hate to leave them in the washer all wet for 4+ hours. Plus my dryer has 'auto dry' so it shuts off when it senses the clothes are dry. I LOVE this feature - works like a charm!

Thanks for all of the input. I was just curious. I work one weekend a month as a per diem nurse and I feel like with 3 kids home during the week I have to straigten or clean up alot! I was just wondering how full time moms did it!

I work full time. My sched. varies 10am to 6pm 3 days a week to 2pm to 10:30pm the other 2. My son is a teenager so he can be alone after school until dh comes home. I generally do my laundry the 2 days a week I am off. with and occasional load here and there. I am fine with washing and drying, it's the folding and putting away that gets away from me. usally we end up living out of the laurdry basket. as for housecleaning, I try to keep up with it on a daily basis. I have found that the really heavy cleaning doesnt need to be done as frequently it things are wiped down daily. It is the clutter that gets to me. the mail, and other papers. Thats what really bothers me. Now that winter is coming there will be coats all over. I have been a nag over my ds and dh putting there own things away. What I would reconmend is what I do. In additiion to generally picking up and straightening out, do one small job a day. Thats what I have been doing. Although I do splurge usually 4 times a year, and have my house professionally cleaned. I have a friend who does it for a living and she will send one of her emloyees and charges me only a minimum amount. It is worth it
