Anyone use 1-800 Contacts or something similar? I just came from the eye doctor's and my contacts are $50 for a box of 6. I'm use to $20 for 6/box. The cheap side of me says no way but I where contacts all the time so I know I will buy them.

I used www.coastalcontacts.com. I think I just paid $125 for six boxes, six pair to a box (I think). It's definitely cheaper that way. google it and you can usually find a coupon somewhere for free shipping or $ off.

Yes, we've bought from them many times with no problems.

Yes, there are always tons of coupons online. I found this for 1800Contacts:

http://www.samilan.com/lenses/

There are also good rebates often, when I bought lenses last time, I got money back if I bought a certain amt of boxes (more rebate money back the more I bought). You can sometimes find the rebates on the specific lensmaker sites or just by googling.

I've been trying to ask people about ordering contacts. Not to hijack the thread, but I have my prescription from January. I am almost out of contacts. Would they still take the script from Jan.? I am having a baby in 2 weeks, and feel like I will be out of them before I can get my act together and get in for an exam. And they were about $180 for a year from my eye dr.

As long as it is within 12 months of the last exam they usually take it.

Your script should be good for a year. You can also talk with your Dr. if you need to for another renewal if needed, because it could take up to six months for your eyes to return to normal after the birth of a child, especially if you're nursing. Yes, eyes retain water, too! And don't bother to buy expensive new eyeglasses for a year, if you can make it last, for the same reason.

Yep, desertmom is right. I actually couldn't wear my contacts through a pregnancy where my swelling was bad. Seems your EYES swell, too!! Most drs. will give you another six months of contact lenses, even if it is time for you eye exam. Mine did...several times! LOL
And for the others...I am going to give this a shot. I didn't know my RX was only good for a year...thought it was two, like with glasses, but after my next exam, I am going to order through one of these companies! Thanks.

I've used 1-800-contacts for the past 2 years and I love it! Never a problem and a lot cheaper!
