I purchased a MT doll for my daughter. Not the exact same as her, but one from the MT friend page. They are cheaper (they where also running a sale) and only the eye color is diffrent from my daughter. Its cute but they are big! I know Target makes a knock off AG doll so they would probably sell clothes that would fit the AG doll at a much better price than the AG store. In the long run the AG doll would be cheaper. I plan on getting my daughter Mia (the doll of the year), it looks a lot like her.

I like the AG History dolls b/c we read the books. I put a wanted ad on Craigslist for them and found the nicest woman who sold me the doll in great condition, her outfits and set of books for only $50 each. I bought Felicity, Kit and Kaya to put up for Christmas and next year's bday. She has the rest of them as well, I told her to email me when she wants to sell those and I'd buy them all. I had tried ebay but they were going for over $75, I don't know why I would pay $80 for a used one when I can get brand new for $90?!

I was thinking when I saw the topic, we have discussed that before. LOL You have to go with AG, they are great! Since that last post I did buy those other dolls from that wonderful lady who also gave me a sack full of clothes and accessories for them. I gave dd Kirsten for her bday the other day and I'm giving her another one for Christmas.

If you are on a budget why not try a Our Generation Doll from Target or an 18 inch doll from a store like K-mart or Meijer. They are much cheaper than AG dolls. If you don't plan on making it an heirloom it is the way to go. My oldest DD has 2 of them. Either way you go check out Etsy for AG doll clothes. They are great!

What a great find!

I found one doll on Craigslist but like you said, I didn't want to pay $80 for a used doll I can buy brand new for $100.

We have an Our Generation doll. She is okay but I got what I paid for. Her hair is an absolute mess and it is hard to get her to stand up straight.
