I just discovered Coupons.com and am excited about it. It seems like they always have new offers. If you download their coupon bar, you also gain access to their recipe database, which has TONS of great recipes linked right to the offers. Their coupons are higher in value than average than the coupons from the Sunday paper, too. Anyway, I thought I'd ask a few questions:

1. Do you use online coupons?
2. What tips/tricks do you have for finding the best ones?
3. Have you ever had a checkout person decline an online coupon? If yes, what did you do?
4. If you don't use online coupons, why not?

Here is the link to the: CouponBar

I don't even bother looking for online coupons anymore, because almost every store in my area has signs posted that they do not accept them. The only exceptions are a few stores that will take their own online store coupons, but no manufacturer's coupons. I can understand it, I guess. At first I thought it was because people could print unlimited amounts, but one store employee told me that didn't really concern them, because they would still get reimbursed as long as they were used for the correct product (the store has to have sufficient stock of that product). He said that the problem was people making their own coupons or altering the amounts on the coupons and that the store can't keep up with every coupon out there to know what is valid or not. Once again, the dishonest people make things more expensive and difficult for honest people.

I just found this article about online coupons. It explains why some stores were burned by coupon counterfeiters, and what to do if your store won't accept them:

I am just starting to have problems with online coupons. SInce I usually have a ton of regular coupons also I think I usually have less problems than people who use one or two. I also try and go to cashier I know are NOT new. I have a friend who is a coupon buddy, sort of, he is more the online type and he just prints them off for me. I have really god online coupon that was refused once and I plan on trying again tis week. If it doesn't work I'll call the company and see if they can send a coupon.

Most stores around here will no longer accept them. My Target still does however.

My husband does not like me to run any program requiring installation of ActiveX, and a lot of the sites I want to get them from require this.

I use online coupons and have never had any problems. I think coupons.com is a great place to get online coupons. I find the best coupons in the newspaper for the most part.

Target takes them here (If they can scan them and now there is a limit (even on their own coupons). And Harris Teeter takes them but only up to a certain amount ( I think it's $1...I need to check the sign at the store again).

I have only had problems at Kmart, I called their 1-800 number and the guy confirmed they do not and filed a complaint for me. I've heard of Kmart taking them since then, so maybe enough people complained... I hate that place anyway, I only went there because they are in town and Walmart requires a drive to the next town. Ended up cheaper at Walmart anyway!
