When you have coupons when do you decide to use them? I always seem to miss out on the really great deals because I always want to make sure I use my coupons before they expire. So I will use them one week and than the next week that item will be like BOGO and I could have used the coupon than and really scored big! I just get frustrated because I never seem to save as much money as everyone else. Could use some tips.
Oh, and yes I watch the grocery store flyers and have begun a price book.

The grocery store in my area has their fliers come out on Tuesday I have noticed many of the coupons in the Sunday paper are what goes on sale in the Tuesday flier! Unless I really need an item anyway I really try to combine! You should never use a coupon just because its going to expire I think that could cost you more in the long run (ie another brand might be cheaper w/o a coupon) unless of course you needed it anyway! Like today, there was a .60 cent coupon for Lipton tea any kind we like the cold brew chances are it will be in the flier that comes Tuesday and yes I will be oh if only I waited but my dh takes it with his lunch and he neefs it for tomorow can't win them all

I recently heard someone on another forum compare couponing to poker, and I've found it to be a pretty accurate comparison. It is a gamble whether to hold the coupon or use it.

I mainly keep coupons for items we buy alot, so if they arnt on sale, its no big loss. I will wait it out on some item though, and sometimes they expire.

I use coupons combined with really good sales. The only time I use them otherwise is if it is about to expire before the next sale circulars come out AND I really need it. I save a lot at CVS using sales, coupons, and ECB's.

I signed up for the grocerygame.com. They basically tell you when to use your coupons according to there data base. I make out like a bandit. For example. just went to Walgreens this week and bought:
10 lg. bags of M&M's
refilled my printer ink cartridge
3 lysol sanatizing wipes
2 pks of gum
3 boxes of tylenol
2 shampoos
and spent $7 and I am receiving 2 free movie tickets in the mail!
