OK. I had always just assumed that Walmart didn't take printed off coupons because the two that I have lived next to in the past 6 years have not accepted them. A different thread here got me to wonder...How many Walmarts do or do not accept printed off coupons? I am curious now.
When I talked to a manager here about it around a year ago he said "it is up to the individual store. Some stores do accept them, others do not." The store in my town and the store that is a few towns over have both decided not to accept printed off coupons. I was also told by this manager that the reason why certain stores choose not to accept them is because they are... "too easy to reproduce and it's too easy to get "fake Coupons" as he said.
I, myself, LOVE to use coupons. I have never tried to use multiple coupons for the same item but I know people try to. I wish that there were more stores out there that still did double coupons. I know there are a few, but not enough in my opinion...What are the "coupon rules" for stores in your area?

I don't really shop at walmart so I can't speak from experience, but I go to another bargain website, and I know that MANY people there say their walmart won't take internet coupons.

OK I forgot to add one of the most important options! How dumb! I forgot to put the option "Walmarts I have been to do not accept printed off coupons"... Is it possible for me to some how go in and change that? Or once it's done maybe it can't be changed.

I haven't tried real recently but the last time I did it was no problem. They generally are able to scan them fine.
Has anyone tried the self checkouts to see if you can scan it yourself?

Well the walmart I usually go to during my lunch will sometimes take them, sometimes not. Guess it just depends on the cashier. I think if they scan and automatically take off the coupon, then it should be all good right?
The one that gets them is when they have to go back and see what the price is. So to take the hassle out of that when emptying my cart, I put down the item and then place the coupon on top of it.
So when going to Walmart with printed coupons all I can do is pick a good cashier that I think will accept them, its kind of like playing the slot machine. lol
If they dont accept the coupon for what I want, I just dont buy it and come back and try again.

Here's the Walmart Coupon Policy Page:
Untitled Page
It basically states:
Wal-Mart accepts the following types of coupons (see guidelines below):
Manufacturer coupons (Cents Off)
Free merchandise (or Buy-One-Get-One-Free) coupons
Store coupons
Pharmacy (Advertising and Promotional) coupons
Internet coupons
Soft drink container caps
The following are guidelines and limits:
Wal-Mart only accepts coupons for merchandise we sell and only when presented at the time of purchase.
Coupons should have an expiration date and be presented within the valid dates. Wal-Mart will not accept expired coupons.
Internet coupons should be legible and say "Manufacturer Coupon." There should be a valid remit address for the manufacturer and a scannable bar code.
Only one coupon per item is permitted.
Use of 40 or more coupons per transaction will require approval by Customer Service Manager.
I guess if your Walmart says it won't accept your internet coupons, you could print out the page and take it with you. I've never had a problem at my local Walmart. Also, if you go through the Self-Checkout, when you're done ringing everything up and it asks you to choose "Which payment method" there's a button in the center of the bottom row that says "Coupons". Just press that, scan your coupons, and then put them in the slot when the screen prompts you.

THANKS!!! I kind of feel like printing it off now! All of my coupons have been clear and the huge majority of them are actually manufacturers coupons. I have not tried to pass off any expired coupons or use multiple coupons for the same product, so I wonder what the problem is with this walmart? Did it say anywhere that it is up to each of the stores to choose to accept or decline them?
I guess it is really no big deal, because I don't shop at Walmart more than once every week or every other week, it would just be nice if they actually followed their posted policies...
Thanks for the info! It will be helpful for those of us who have troubles with printed coupons there (or those of us who know others who do).

I just wanted to add that I don't go to the Self-Checkout every time to use my coupons. Any register at my Walmart accepts internet coupons. Sometimes it's just faster if I have only a few items.
When I have two coupons to use on one item (say an internet/printed manf. coupon + a another BOGO coupon) I always go to the regular checkout line, though. It's funny how alot of cashiers aren't aware of how you can use coupons in combination like that. I figure the more cashiers at my store that are aware of this, the better.

I don't usually shop at Walmart but that is very handy. I thought Target was going to post a similar policy? anyone have that?
