Something that happened today (and another thread question) brought up a question in my mind. I'd like to know what you all do...I went to the store today to use my second "Free state Fair corn dogs, up to $4.00" coupon. They were on sale. Reg price was $7.96 and they were on sale for $5.96. It is a large box- like 22 or 24 corn dogs or something around that number. Anyways...the coupon says "up to $4.00 off" but when I got home from the store and looked at the recipt, the lady who checked me out took off the full price of what the box cost ($5.96). So, here's my question...what would you do/what have you done or how would you handle a situation similar to this? I am not asking for advise here, just want to know what the average person actually does...

If I did not realize it until I got home honestly nothing! Had I seen it right away I would of questioned it. However I think the person that did it would shrug it off and say thats okay, at least imo!

I probably use a hundred coupons at even given month and I watch everything the cashier does and correct her on the spot. I have never had this happen but if I did I would have noticed before the order was even complet and the cashier would have corrected it. But if somehow I missed it well it would go unchanged becuase I never look at my receipts once I am out the door. At this point I dont think they will do anything if you do go back.

This never happened to me before! I honestly don't know what I would do in this situation! I am sure I would do a happy dance- but then feel guilty if I did not say anything!

Yup,its happened to me too. Once I had one of those 'Free bag of cat food up to $4' and the cashier took off the full price of the bag, I think it was $6 something. I didn't say anything and didn't even really notice till after i got in the car. I just figured that I spend enough money in that store that they will eventually get the money back from me, so whatever. LOL

Another time, I watch a cashier accidently put in manually $11 in stead of $1. I spoke up and said it was wrong, then it was more hassle than it was worth to get the price back on! She couldn't figure out how to void the coupon and redo it, so she scanned a matchbox car 9 times to put the $10 back. Ugh!

I guess I may be the only one that this happens to frequently. I go to veteran cashiers and sometimes they wil tell me I got lucky b/c the are taking the full price off rather than what I paid. most veteran cashiers also know the coupon ropes. if I don't notice until I get home I don't do anythign to correct the situation. whenever I have caught it they usually say thats okay the company pays for it, meaning the maker of the product.
I didn't put anything down on the poll b/c none apply. I guess the closest is the cheer.

As a former cashier, lol, I'm sure if you figured this out after the sale was final, they would do nothing about it anyway.

This is probably me. If I saw it right away, I'd tell them, or if it was a BIG error I'd tell them next time. But just a few dollars I probably wouldn't worry about it since I'd figure it made up for all the times they made a small error the other way.
