If its a really good coupon week I will! Where I live my Sunday paper is $1.50 but on Mondays a local drug store sells there leftovers for .75 cents, so sometimes it is well worth it! Check out your local stores you might have the same deal.

I never have before, but that sounds like a great idea. I will have to check and see if my store does that. Our paper used to be $1.50, but now it's $1.25.

my dh works for the newspaper here, so he always brings me extra coupons on sundays. also, the gas station closest to us has day old papers they will give to you if you ask. if my dh has sunday morning off, i just go into the gas station on mondays and they let me have all of the coupons out of sundays paper.

I have been but it seems like our newspaper shorts the ones that go to machines and gas stations... they are always missing one insert or the other.

sometimes I do, usually if dh goes out on a sunday to pick up ice i will get him to grab an extra, but he also likes to pick up the local city paper and that has coupons in it as well.

There are several papers that come out around here on Sundays. I usually just buy the paper that I would actually sit down and read the rest of, which has the same coupons as the rest. Well, I always check it first though, before I buy it, to make the coupons are in there. I've been "coupon ripped" before!

For the same paper I would buy at the gas stations for $1.50, I can get a WM for $1, so I try to go there to buy it when I can. But, a few Monday's ago, I went to a convenience store to see if they had any Sunday papers left. They didn't have any out to sell, but one of the girls gave me the one they had behind the counter for FREE - after I told her that all I wanted it for was the coupons!! :happy dance:

A good number of the coupons I get are included in freebie packaging, though!!

We don't get the paper regularily but I often get the ads from my MIL. Dh delivered the paper for many years, and he still knows a lot of people, so if I wanted a few extra papers or just the ad inserts, he'd hook me up!

one of the keys to successfully couponing is buying double, triple, and quadruple what you normally would in coupons. it is how you get the best deals. most people don't do well with coupons because they only get 1 or 2 of a particular coupon.

i buy anywhere from 4-8 newspapers each weekend for coupons. so i always have enough to buy at least 4 of an item. then on monday, i get at least 5 extra papers free. so i am always carrying around anywhere from 8-14 or so coupons for one item. it comes in handy, especially when items are FREE.

that is how i get so many packages of the same item repeatedly. i have about 20 tubes of deodorant now, all free. i have over 80 ink pens, all free. and cereal--i have enough cereal to feed an army, and at 25 cents a pop after coupons, and 12 coupons...it is well worth the 5 or so dollars spent in buying papers.

just think. here my papers are 50 cents each...so for 4.00 i am getting 8 coupon sets. if each coupon insert has 1 free cat food coupon at 80 cents each, i got back 3.20 cents. then if there is 1.00 off toothpaste, and the sale the next week is 1 tube of toothpaste for 84 cents, i just saved 8.00 in toothpaste. so i have already made back almost double what i spent for the papers. and that was only 2 types of coupon. usually the inserts have about 20-30 coupons, and they don't expire for at least 2 weeks. so i can save literally hundreds of dollars in coupons.

i started couponing in about july of this year. when i started, i had on my little perks card (the one you swipe for extra savings) about 80.00 in savings (without coupns). in two months, i have now over 590.00 in savings. so in 2 months i saved over 500.00 in groceries with coupons. in the last 2 months, i may have spent, altogether, about 200.00. so in reality, i purchased 700.00 worth of food, for 200.00. and that is just one store. i frequent 3 stores weekly, on a regular basis. so i have saved well over a grand in coupons in the last 2 months, and i have probably spent about 400.00 total in the last two months. which means i probably have my house full of over 1,400.00 worth of goods, in the last two months. i'm still aiming for more savings, more sales, and more money in my pockets.

now all of that to simply say: it is well worth the money out of pocket to buy 8-10 newspapers each week, especially if they are about or less than 1.00 and you shop regularly.

btw...it is also why i am always loaded with extra coupons to help those in need, and to be able to load the coupon trains with. it is also why i have well over 400 expired coupons for those who are in the military (still looking for info about that). people have been coming to me lately asking me to help them with an item that i have 10 or so of. but regardless of whether i got the item for free or for 1.00, i am still paying for that item. and i have a household to support...so instead of giving them a free item, i give them a free coupon and tell them to head to the store

the sales are there for everyone, just gotta get up and make it happen!
