What would you do if you went to the store and forgot your coupons?

Would you go back home and get them, go on to the store and buy stuff that you don't have coupons for or just shop for what you need? Or something else?

PS I meant to make this a poll but pushed post too soon.

Depending on how far away I was from home, I would more than likely go back otherwise I would be mad at myself. YES I have done it

I can't tell you how many times I have forgotten my coupons. I don't turn around and go home I just get what I need and use them another time. It would be a waste in gas to turn around and I wouldn't be coming out any more ahead because of the cost of gas.

I get the stuff I needed and didn't have my coupons for, and then the next day (since I shop on Thursdays, and usually go out Frday nights with Dh for dinner) would return to the store with my coupons. Of course, the grocery store is just outside of the neighboorhood, so it's no big distance for me.

That is one of the reasons I don't use coupons. On the rare occasion I find one that is worth it, I always forget to use them!!

The grocery store is only 2 miles from my house so I would most likely go home for the coupons. If I only had 1 or 2, I would probably save them for next time.

depends, if i just needed one or two things, i just get things i know i didnt have a coupon for, if its grocheries, i always go back and get them, but i am uber paranoid, so everything is double checked beforei l eave the house. the only time coupons have been forgotten is when i gave them to dh to shop.

Oh, that is SO my DH too!! I don't even bother giving them to him anymore, since he always forgets to USE them!

I add coupons to my "coupon file" every day, and I try to make sure that I have it with me when I go out. Leaving it in the car, so as not to forget it, wouldn't work for me - since I'm adding them all the time. I do thumb through it before I go into the store though. When I have coupons that I really want to use the next time I go shopping, I'll paperclip them together and keep them in a pocket of my purse. This way I rarely forget them, and that's the first thing I do when I get inside the store - check that pocket!

Luckily, I'm close to shopping, though. And I shop a few times a week. So, for the rare occasion that I DON'T have a coupon for something that I normally buy, I would just hold off on getting those items until the next trip. If it was something that I couldn't do without for the next few days, I would go ahead and get it...but I would be grumbling to myself all the way home!!
